The agreement between you and selfwyse when you take an assessment, create an account, or open a shared report.
By creating an account, taking an assessment, or accessing a paired or circle report on SelfWyse (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
SelfWyse is operated by SelfWyse LLC, a Texas limited liability company.
SelfWyse offers self-report psychological assessments, individual reports, and paired or circle reports built for reflection and conversation. SelfWyse is not a medical or mental health service. It does not diagnose, treat, or predict any medical, psychological, or mental health condition, and it is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional. See our full Disclaimer, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Results are not intended for, and must not be used for, employment decisions, medical or legal decisions, or other high-stakes decisions about yourself or anyone else.
You must be at least 18 years old to use SelfWyse. You confirm this at the same moment you accept these Terms — the same tick covers both.
You can take an assessment without an account. Your answers are scored on your own device and nothing is stored on our side while you take it.
When you finish, you see your full result and then choose what happens to it: delete it, save it to an account, or save it and share it. Keeping a result — by either route — requires an account, and creating that account is where you accept these Terms. Inviting someone to a paired or circle report also requires an account.
You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping access to your email secure, since that is how you sign in. Let us know right away at privacy@selfwyse.com if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
A circle is a shared report for up to twelve participants: the organizer, and up to eleven people they invite. Each invitation is a unique link tied to a single invitee — using someone else’s invitation link does not add your results in their place, and the organizer cannot reassign an accepted invitation to a different person.
Invitations to a circle lock — meaning no new invitations can be added — when all eleven have been accepted, or seven days after the circle is created, whichever happens first. The organizer can also close a circle early by hand. Until the circle locks, the organizer may replace an invitation that was declined or never accepted. Once accepted, an invitation cannot be replaced.
Before deciding whether to share their results, an invitee is shown the current list of everyone invited to the circle and each person’s status. This list reflects real-time status, not the list at the moment of invitation.
Circles are intended for personal use — among friends, family, partners, coworkers, or other relationships of your choosing — as a personal and voluntary activity. They are not intended, licensed, or suitable for use as a workplace personality assessment, team-evaluation, or employment-related tool. See our Disclaimer.
Reports can be downloaded by participants in a paired or circle report. Once a report is downloaded, copies may exist outside SelfWyse’s platform and outside our control. If you opt out of a paired or circle report or request removal:
By participating in a paired or circle report and enabling downloads, you acknowledge this limitation.
If you buy a detailed individual report, you can create a personal link to it and send that link to anyone. Turning that link off stops it from working for anyone who has it, going forward — but the same limitation above applies to any copy already saved or printed from it before you turned it off. Paired and circle reports do not have a share link of this kind, because they hold other people’s results as well as yours; access to those is limited to the people who were invited into that specific report.
Reports are one-time purchases. There is no subscription and no membership. Nothing renews, and nothing bills you a second time — if you want another report, you buy another report. Prices are set in US dollars. If you’re paying from outside the United States, checkout may show you an equivalent amount in your own currency, converted automatically — the US dollar figure is what we set the price at, not necessarily the exact amount your card is charged.
Payments are handled by Stripe. The seller of record for your purchase is Sold through Link, LLC, a Stripe company — meaning Stripe, not selfwyse, is who you’re transacting with for payment purposes. Your receipt, invoice, and card or bank statement will show Stripe or Link, not selfwyse. We never see or store your card number; Stripe tells us only whether a payment succeeded and for how much.
selfwyse is available to buyers outside the United States. Sales tax, VAT, or GST is calculated and collected automatically at checkout, and how it appears depends on the currency you pay in.
In most countries where tax applies, Stripe calculates it, collects it, and is responsible for filing and remitting it to the relevant tax authority. Where Stripe doesn’t handle this for a particular country, selfwyse remains responsible for its own tax obligations there.
A circle is not charged when it’s created. The organizer is billed only after the circle closes — once everyone invited has shared their result, or the seven-day invitation window ends, whichever comes first — and the price reflects how many people actually took part, not how many were invited. The full circle report is released to everyone in it once that payment succeeds.
If a report isn't worth it, tell us within 30 days and we'll refund it in full. You don't have to give a reason. Ask through our help page or email support@selfwyse.com.
Stripe runs its own refund process too. Because Stripe is the seller of record, a buyer can also ask Stripe directly, and Stripe’s policy takes precedence over ours wherever ours is narrower. Stripe can issue a refund for up to 60 days after a purchase, including in cases where we would have said no. We don’t control that. The limits above describe how we handle a request — they are not the only route a buyer has.
Refunds go back to the payment method you used, through Stripe. How long that takes to appear is up to your bank, usually five to ten days.
After 30 days our guarantee no longer applies as a matter of course, though Stripe’s own 60-day window may still. If something went wrong anyway, tell us — we’d rather hear about it than not.
We may change what a report costs. A change never affects a report you’ve already bought, and the price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
You agree not to:
SelfWyse owns the assessment presentation, report templates, narrative and interpretive language, and the Service itself. You own your own responses and the personal data you provide.
Many of the underlying assessment items are drawn from the public-domain International Personality Item Pool and other open-domain sources — see Sources & Methodology. Public-domain sourcing applies to the underlying items, not to SelfWyse’s report design, scoring logic, or written interpretive content, which remain ours.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of results. See our full Disclaimer for the non-clinical framing that applies throughout the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SelfWyse LLC, its members, officers, employees, and contractors are not liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising out of or relating to the Service — whether the claim is based in contract, warranty, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other theory, and whether or not we were advised that such damages were possible.
Our total liability to you, for all claims combined, will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid SelfWyse LLC for the report or reports the claim relates to, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
This limit reflects the price of the Service. We set our prices on the understanding that our liability is bounded this way; without that understanding we could not offer the Service at these prices.
We are specifically not liable for:
Nothing here excludes or limits our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by our negligence — or for anything else that applicable law does not permit us to limit. Some jurisdictions don’t allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Where a limitation isn’t permitted, it is reduced to the minimum the law allows rather than removed, and the rest of this section still applies.
Any claim arising out of or relating to the Service must be brought within two years after the claim arose, or it is permanently barred — except where applicable law requires a longer period, in which case that longer period applies.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SelfWyse LLC, its members, officers, employees, and contractors from any third-party claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of:
This obligation doesn’t apply to any claim caused by our own breach of these Terms, our negligence, or our willful misconduct.
If we seek indemnification, we will tell you promptly and give you the chance to take over the defense with counsel we reasonably approve. We may participate in the defense at our own expense. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault on our behalf, imposes an obligation on us, or fails to fully release us, without our written consent.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data, and to any paired or circle report you’re part of, after deletion.
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We’ll post the updated version here with a new date; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Except as set out below, any dispute that isn’t resolved informally or in arbitration will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Bexar County, Texas, and you and SelfWyse LLC each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If you live outside the United States, nothing in this section takes away rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in the courts of that country where that right can’t be waived.
Most problems are faster to fix directly than through a formal process, so before either of us starts an arbitration or a lawsuit, we each agree to try to resolve it informally.
Send a written Notice of Dispute to support@selfwyse.com, or to our mailing address in Section 16, describing the problem and what you’d like us to do about it. If we have a dispute with you, we’ll send the same notice to the email on your account. We will each have 60 days from the date the notice is received to work it out. Neither of us may start an arbitration or a lawsuit until those 60 days have passed, and the deadline in Section 11 for bringing a claim pauses while this process runs.
Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead, if the claim qualifies there. Nothing in this section stops that.
If we can’t resolve a dispute informally, you and SelfWyse LLC agree to resolve it by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration takes place in Bexar County, Texas, or — at your choice — in the county where you live, by telephone, or by video. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this agreement to arbitrate.
We pay the filing and arbitration fees for any claim under ten thousand dollars ($10,000), except where the arbitrator finds the claim was frivolous or brought for an improper purpose. You are responsible for your own attorneys’ fees unless the law or the arbitrator says otherwise.
No class actions. Arbitration is individual. Neither of us may bring a claim as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action, and the arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person’s claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding. If this paragraph is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim — and only that claim — is severed from the arbitration and heard in the Bexar County courts named above, while the rest of the dispute stays in arbitration.
Coordinated filings. If twenty-five or more similar claims are filed against SelfWyse LLC by or with the help of the same counsel or coordinated group, you and SelfWyse LLC agree the claims will be resolved in batches of no more than fifty at a time, each batch heard by a single arbitrator, with any remaining claims held until earlier batches are decided.
Arbitration isn’t mandatory for you. You may decline this arbitration agreement — including the class-action waiver — by emailing support@selfwyse.com with the subject line “Arbitration Opt-Out” and your account email, within 30 daysof first accepting these Terms. Opting out costs you nothing, changes nothing else about your account, and is not held against you in any way. If you opt out, disputes go to the Bexar County courts named above. If you don’t opt out within 30 days, the arbitration agreement applies.
If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest of it stays in effect — except that if the class-action waiver in its entirety is found unenforceable, the whole arbitration agreement is void and disputes go to the Bexar County courts instead.
